In a brief court appearance on Wednesday, Florida Instagram model Courtney Clenney pleaded not guilty to killing her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, in their luxury Miami apartment, The Post reports.

Clenney is facing second-degree murder charges for stabbing her boyfriend Christian Obumseli, a cryptocurrency trader, during a violent argument in April.

However, Clenney, who has amassed more than two million followers on Instagram, remains locked up without bond after being apprehended on August 10 in Hawaii and subsequently extradited to Florida.

On Wednesday, Clenney’s attorney, Frank Prieto, entered her plea as Clenney herself did not appear in court. Prieto contends that his client acted in self-defense from her boyfriend’s onslaught during the scuffle.

Clenney claimed that Obumseli threw her to the floor during the fight. She then retaliated by throwing a kitchen knife at him from 10 feet away. However, a medical examiner determined that Obumseli was stabbed at close range, according to prosecutors.

Neighbors and friends told investigators the couple had a fraught relationship and fought constantly. Clenney and Obumseli’s constant argument grew so rowdy that their building managers wanted to evict them.
