A would-be Indiana robber was brutally beaten by a group of residents after he broke into their apartment and attempted to rob them. According to the police, the residents kept the thief in custody using their own firearms until responding officers could arrive.
According to Kokomo police, 18-year-old Marrell Tyler sustained multiple facial injuries when he forced his way into the Annex of Kokomo apartments on Thursday at 3:25 a.m.
When responding officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Tyler beaten up and held at gunpoint by three men who had been inside the first apartment he broke into.
According to the men’s report, Tyler, wearing a ski mask, broke into the apartment and pointed a gun at them. The men said they knocked away the gun out of Tyler’s hand and pinned him down. Tyler then pulled a second firearm that went off but didn’t hit anyone. One of the three men was able to subdue Tyler using his own firearm until officers could arrive.
According to authorities, Tyler suffered severe facial injuries and was transported to the hospital by Police, who later took him to Howard County Criminal Justice Center for holding. Tyler is facing a burglary charge, which is a level 2 felony. The three men also suffered minor facial injuries, Fox News reported.
